Last week The Orchard Talent Group was joined by over 40 CEO’s and Non-Executive Directors from the Health sector to hear from Pat O'Sullivan (Calvary Healthcare Ltd Health Board Member) & Lisa Chung (The Benevolent Society Board Chair). Both shared learnings and insights gained in the commercial sector that boards operating within the for-purpose sector can employ. Emphasis was placed on the importance of innovation within the Australian Aged Care and Disability sectors.

Pat’s ‘clarity of thought and practicality’ led to a candid discussion around crisis management, risk governance and clarity of the organisations mission at the board level.

Lisa spoke about governance being embedded in the DNA of an organisation. She highlighted the importance of getting to know your fellow board members and their personal values - this not only enhances relationships, but also makes for a more attuned and collaborative board.

The forum was “interesting, insightful and very candid”, and provided key takeaways and a unique networking opportunity for guests. Due to the flow of positive feedback, we look forward to hosting similar events quarterly.
