About the Role
This is a key role in the GDN's Client Services operational team, leading the Northern Metro region to service over 800 clients in the community. They will have operational oversight of GDN's two main service centres based in St Leonards and Parramatta, providing strong leadership to support better ways of working for clients and staff.
Reporting into the Head of Services, and leading a team of over 20 staff, the Area Manager will raise the profile of the organisation and its services with clients and community stakeholders. In collaboration with the Client Services leadership team, the Area Manager will lead the delivery of high-quality services to people who have low vision or blindness. A key mandate to implement person-centred, continuous improvement strategies to promote Client Service wide attraction and retention.
The successful candidate will have the following;
- Proven track record of leading client/service driven teams that are geographically dispersed;
- Track record of leading teams to meet and exceeding income targets and to manage expense budget responsibly;
- A person centric approach and awareness of key sector initiatives in disability;
- Creative and insightful thinking, and a strong ability to problem solve;
- Knowledge of person centric approaches in disability;
- Demonstrated experience in operational leadership in a demanding environment and in stakeholders and community engagement that delivers client and community outcomes.
