Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) is a government funded health organisation that provides quality health care to a population of more than 400,000 people. The Health District extends along the south coast from Helensburgh in the north to North Durras in the south. It has a workforce of 7,500 across eight hospitals and more than 58 Community Health Services.
About the Opportunity
ISLHD is currently seeking an experienced Director of Nursing - District Mental Health Services, to lead and develop outstanding mental health services across the District. Overseeing a large, disparate workforce across both inpatient and community services, the Director of Nursing District Mental Health Services will play a crucial role in developing the strategic direction of Mental Health in the district and elevating workforce capability.
As a member of the Mental Health Executive Team, The Director of Nursing will report directly to the Director Mental Health and work in close collaboration with the Clinical Director, Operations Managers and Finance Manager to determine organisation wide strategic and operational plans and to ensure District and broader State-wide objectives are met.
An accomplished professional and well-rounded senior leader, you will demonstrate extensive leadership experience and true subject matter knowledge of contemporary mental health nursing.
In addition to the essential criteria, you will also demonstrate:
- Experience delivering Mental Health services in a complex, diverse remit, with a focus on meeting service delivery KPIs;
- Ability to manage multiple complex tasks and achieve objectives within timeframes;
- Strong influencing and strategic thinking capability, with an engaging, proactive approach to stakeholder management; and
- Demonstrated ability leading significant and positive culture change
