The Opportunity
A provider of 24/7 community based palliative care within Western Sydney. These services are provided in partnership with Western Sydney Local Health District, the fastest growing metropolitan Local Health District in NSW.
The service within NSW has been in operation for 14 months, with care provided by a number of registrars, specialist, spiritual workers and Registered Nurses. The company provides specialist home-based care to palliating clients and support for their families. In addition, the organisation provides equipment to assist patients to remain in their homes free of charge.
The company is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join their organisation who shares their affinity to provide outstanding palliative care to their patients and aligns with the company's organisational mission and values.
The Role
The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for looking at existing practices within the company and driving best-practice across the organisation through the use and presentation of evidence-based care.
Covering the Western Sydney catchment, the Nurse Practitioner will visit circa 3 homes daily to assist complex palliative cases.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be a senior clinical specialist within the organisation and provide a high level of guidance and education to fellow colleagues. Focus will particularly be on complex cases where care needs escalation.
The successful candidate will be a current Registered Nurse with AHPRA, and either be an authorised Nurse Practitioner specialising in palliative care, or a Transitional Nurse Practitioner currently undertaking their study in the area of palliative care.
