About the Company
An opportunity exists to join a leading non-profit organisation and be a part of a national Speech Pathology team who see the ability, not the disability.
One of Australia's most established charitable organisations, our client provides services and support across Aged Care, Children & Families and Disability sectors. With over 1,500 employees and 600 volunteers across NSW, QLD & SA, they pride themselves on their supportive culture and ability to deliver continued professional growth and development opportunities to their staff.
Working as a part of an experienced multi-disciplinary team, the Speech Pathologist will plan, monitor, and review client outcomes in line with NDIS funding.
Supporting high-complex clients with ADHD, Autism, Down Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis, Brain Injuries, and Mental Health conditions, there is a robust clinical practice approach with a varied caseload. This includes working across a range of clients particularly within the adult range group, in addition to those clients referred from the Goulburn prison.
Working within an Allied Health team, key responsibilities include:
- Development of clients' social and language skills
- Feeding Difficulties and Swallowing Assessments
- Meal-time management plans
- Augmentative and Alternative Communication Assessments
A strong pipeline of client referrals already exists, providing the opportunity to focus on delivering great client outcomes.
As a Speech Pathologist you will have;
- Experience navigating and working within the NDIS system
- A current drivers' licence and willingness to travel to clients (car provided)
- Speech Pathologist Australia (SPA) registration
Prior experience working with adult clients and high-complex needs will be highly regarded.
This role would also support someone current living living in Wollongong who is comfortable with working in the Goulburn area two days a week.
