A unique opportunity has become available for an experienced Team Leader to lead the child protection services within Norfolk Island. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will supervise a culturally sensitive child focused service and well-regarded team. The Team Leader will collaborate effectively with key community partners to promote the wellbeing of children, young people and their families. You will also work closely with the Operations Manager to identify service gaps and co-design programs to meet the needs of the local community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising a team of child protection professionals with a view to deliver quality, child focused services
- Providing expertise and support on complex cases as required
- Overseeing service delivery and providing regular KPI reports to the Operations Manager
- Develop strong relationships with community partners and increase service awareness within the broader community
- Assisting the Operations Manager to drive a culture of continuous improvement on the Island
- Support with the rollout of Key Assets' Practice Framework and ensure policies and good practice principles are adhered to
- Participate in the on-call roster (additional wages paid)
As a proven Team Leader working within child protection, you will possess:
- A Social Work qualification (essential)
- Minimum 5 years' experience working across a range of child protection services
- Exceptional team management skills with proven ability to build and maintain a high performing and engaged team
- Resilience and an understanding of the difficulties of working in a remote, isolated and complex setting
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trust and engagement with the local community, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and empathy
- Strong initiative and logic
- The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
