The Opportunity

The Chief Digital & Innovation Officer (CDIO) is a newly created role and pivotal member of the Executive Leadership Team, responsible for setting and delivering CPA’s enterprise-wide technology, digital transformation and innovation strategy. This role will ensure CPA leverages forward-thinking, fit-for-purpose technology to enable high-quality services, operational efficiency and workforce effectiveness. In addition, this role will have oversight of Remarkable, helping to scale assistive technology strategies internationally and leverage assistive technology opportunities for CPA clients.Working in close partnership with the Chief Information Officer, the CDIO brings enterprise-wide strategy, future-state design and transformation leadership. The role will define and execute a clear, integrated digitisation roadmap for the next five years and beyond, aligning technology investment with organisational priorities and Strategy 2030. The CDIO will lead the strategic adoption of emerging technologies, including AI, automation, advanced analytics and digital platforms, ensuring investments are secure, scalable, ethical and aligned to CPA’s purpose and values.

This is a rare opportunity to deliver a step-change in how CPA designs services, equips its workforce and uses data and technology to support people with disability and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the CEO and partnering with the Executive Leadership Team, as Chief Digital & Innovation Officer, you will shape future-state capability through strategic investment in technology, data, AI and emerging innovation aligned to Strategy 2030. In addition, you will:
  • Drive responsible adoption of AI, automation and data capability across the organisation.
  • Sponsor major enterprise transformation programs with strong governance and benefits realisation.
  • Support enterprise data, analytics and insight capability to improve decision-making and performance.
  • Build organisation-wide change capability to embed new systems and digitally enabled ways of working.
  • Advise the CEO and Board on technology opportunity, risk and investment direction.
  • Partner closely with the CIO to align operational delivery with long-term strategic intent.
  • Leverage external partnerships and innovation initiatives and foster industry relationships to accelerate capability and sector impact.
About You
You are a highly experienced technology and transformation executive with a proven track record of translating enterprise strategy into execution in complex organisations. You bring deep experience across digitisation, data and analytics, emerging technologies and large-scale change leadership.

As the successful candidate, you are commercially astute, strategically minded and comfortable operating at Board and Executive level. You balance ambition with disciplined delivery, ethical governance and people-centred change. Most importantly, you are motivated by purpose and committed to using technology to create meaningful impact.
