The opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer holds a pivotal executive leadership role, responsible for financial stewardship, performance, and sustainability across a diverse, state-wide service portfolio. With a current operating budget of ~$300m, this role is central to maintaining Anglicare Victoria’s financial resilience and competitive positioning.
 
The CFO leads a broad portfolio overseeing strategic and operational functions across budgeting and forecasting, financial performance reporting, investment governance, statutory compliance, risk management, external audit coordination and financial systems. You will also lead the management of Anglicare Victoria’s statewide property and fleet portfolio and Information Technology to guide the organisation’s technology roadmap and digital environment.
 
Your leadership will directly influence Anglicare Victoria’s ability to operate effectively, adapt to changing environments and plan with confidence, while partnering effectively with the organisation to improve financial literacy and performance. As a key member of the Executive Team, you will contribute to whole of business decisions and provide authoritative advice to the CEO, Executive  and Board, contributing to key organisational priorities and long-term strategic decision-making. With a substantial owned and leased property portfolio and significant technology uplift underway, this role will assist in driving digital capability and asset optimisation for Anglicare Victoria.
 
This role is central to ensuring Anglicare Victoria remains future-focused, mission-aligned, and financially strong as it embarks on a new strategic plan whilst continuing its growth trajectory. This is a unique opportunity to shape the corporate platform of one of Victoria’s most significant community service providers committed to improving lives across the state.
 
About you
You are an accomplished senior finance executive with the experience and confidence to lead a broad corporate services portfolio, bringing strong commercial governance capability, sound judgement and the ability to advise and influence at Executive and Board levels. You excel at leading multidisciplinary teams and creating environments where systems, processes and people can operate optimally. You understand how to align corporate functions with organisational strategy and build the capability required to support high-quality service delivery.
 
You will bring a collaborative leadership approach that is resilient and future-focused with an empowering nature. You value innovation, continuous improvement and accountability, and you foster cultures where people feel supported and equipped to perform at a high standard.
 
You will be motivated by the mission and purpose of Anglicare Victoria, being comfortable operating in complex environments and energised by the opportunity to contribute to an organisation making a tangible difference to Victorian communities. To be successful you will require:
  • CPA qualification and tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (postgraduate qualifications highly regarded)
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management, planning, reporting and statutory compliance
  • Proven capability in governance, risk management and evidence-based decision support at scale
  • Leadership experience spanning finance, property, technology or comparable corporate portfolios with a style that values collaboration, transparency, capability uplift and continuous improvement
  • Strong capacity to build business partnering relationships across diverse operational teams
  • Ability to engage constructively and collaboratively with government stakeholders,
  • Understanding or familiarity of government and their contracting and pricing approaches
