The opportunity
SydWest are seeking an experienced Chief People & Culture Officer to lead the development and execution of a contemporary people strategy aligned to organisational priorities and future growth.
Reporting to the CEO, this role operates as a key member of the executive team, combining strategic leadership with hands-on operational delivery. You will play a pivotal role in shaping organisational culture, enhancing the employee experience and ensuring the workforce is equipped to meet evolving service demands.
You will:
• Lead the design and delivery of a forward-looking workforce strategy
• Partner with the CEO and executive to drive organisational performance and transformation
• Oversee end-to-end people functions including talent, capability, engagement and ER
• Strengthen workforce planning, recruitment pipelines and employer value proposition
• Embed a high-performance, values-aligned and inclusive organisational culture
• Ensure strong governance, compliance and risk management across all people practices
This is a critical leadership role for an executive who thrives in complex, purpose-driven environments and is motivated to make a tangible community impact.
About you
You are a seasoned People & Culture executive with a track record of leading high-performing teams and delivering both strategic and operational outcomes:
- Proven senior-level experience leading People & Culture in complex organisations
• Demonstrated capability across workforce strategy, organisational development and change
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, industrial relations and compliance
• Experienced in partnering with senior leaders to influence and drive outcomes
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR, IR, Business, Psychology or related discipline
