The Diocese of Lismore Catholic Schools supports approximately 3,500 employees across 45 schools serving around 18,000 students throughout Northern NSW. The organisation provides system level leadership, governance and support services to enable schools to deliver high quality, faith filled education and safe, inclusive learning environments.
The opportunity
Based out of the Lismore Head Office or Coffs Harbour Office, this advisory role supports schools across the Diocese to embed child safeguarding practices. You will strengthen school capability, build confidence in leaders, and foster a culture of safeguarding that reflects the values of Catholic education.
Reporting to the Manager, Child Safeguarding Investigations, the Advisor will:
- Deliver and coordinate child protection and reportable conduct training
- Support school leaders to embed and review Child Safe Standards
- Monitor and improve safeguarding practices and compliance across schools
- Provide guidance on operational risks, policies and continuous improvement
- Align strongly to the catholic ethos of the organisation
You are a confident and credible child safeguarding professional who brings practical experience, sound judgement and the ability to support and guide school leaders.
- Strong background in child safeguarding, education or working with children at risk
- Skilled at designing and delivering engaging, practical training programs
- Good understanding of NSW Child Safe Standards and related legislation
- Clear, approachable communicator who builds trust with staff and stakeholders
- A commitment to organisations Catholic values and ethos
