Overview
Drive IPAA’s data and digital capability, owning strategy, improving data quality and enabling insight-led decisions to enhance member experience.

The organisation
IPAA NSW is the professional association for NSW’s public sector, supporting a network of almost half a million professionals. The organisation is undergoing a transformation, leading to a more agile, data-informed and member-centric model.

The opportunity
Reporting to the Director – Member Experience & Operations, the Data & Digital Specialist will lead IPAA’s data capability and digital optimisation initiatives. This role will also play a key part in embedding a data-informed culture and improving how teams use data to drive decisions. In the first 6 - 12 months, you will establish a data strategy, improve current data quality and deliver reporting and automation improvements.
Within this, the successful candidate will:
  • Own and shape IPAA’s data and digital strategy end-to-end, driving measurable organisational impact
  • Design and deliver dashboards that turn data into clear, commercially meaningful insights
  • Lead automation initiatives that eliminate manual work and unlock scalable efficiencies
  • Establish robust data governance, privacy and security frameworks to build trust in data
  • Embed a data-led culture, lifting capability and influencing how decisions are made across the organisation
  • Oversee CRM and digital platforms, ensuring systems are optimised to support member engagement and operations

About you
You will hold 2+ years’ experience working with organisational data systems, including dashboards, reporting and supporting decision making. In addition you will have:
  • Strong capability in data analysis, automation and systems optimisation
  • Understanding of data governance, Australian Privacy Principles, privacy and security requirements
  • Working knowledge of data security, business continuity, backup and disaster recovery concepts.
  • Ability to translate data into insights for non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience managing CRM systems, ideally iMIS, and working with data across multiple platforms; Power BI highly regarded
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Data Analytics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics or a related discipline

What’s on Offer
  • Opportunity to own and build a data function end-to-end
  • Work in a purpose-led organisation influencing the public sector
  • High visibility role partnering across the business
  • Scope to introduce automation, AI and emerging digital solutions
  • Flexible, collaborative and agile working environment
