The opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Executive and leading a team of six direct reports, The Director Office of the Chief Executive and Chief Audit Executive provides policy, planning and operational support to the Chief Executive to facilitate the achievement of organisational and management objectives. The Director serves as a focal point for all matters that require the direct intervention of the Office of the Chief Executive (OCE), ensuring the Chief Executive is properly briefed and advised. Additionally, the Director will lead organisation-wide initiatives to articulate and drive the Chief Executive's strategies and priorities, establish governance around the Performance Framework and establish an external relations centre of excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership and direction to the OCE, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and efficient services
- Monitoring organisational strategic and corporate planning activities
- Leading and developing high performing teams spanning strategy, executive services, internal governance and audit, marketing and communications
- Leading the organisation’s governance, audit, and corporate performance frameworks
- Managing critical relationships with relevant stakeholders including NSW Health and Ministerial offices

About you
Our ideal candidate is a strategic and adaptable senior leader who thrives in complex and ambiguous environments. You bring clarity, composure, and strategic focus to your work, leading diverse teams to deliver high-impact outcomes. With a collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement, you support the Chief Executive in translating priorities into deliverables, embedding governance and audit practices that align with performance frameworks.
In addition, you will possess:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience, with a demonstrated commitment to continuous learning
- Exceptional communication, influencing, and executive advisory skills
- Demonstrated experience in leading national and/or state-wide policy and project management initiatives
- Strong knowledge of the structure and processes of government. An understanding of Australian and NSW Healthcare systems is also highly beneficial
- Proven leadership of multidisciplinary, high-performing teams
