Established in 2007, Health Infrastructure is one of NSW Health’s key statewide services, delivering future focused, innovative and sustainable infrastructure and support solutions that enable value-based healthcare delivery in NSW.  Collaborating with Local Health Districts, government and industry to transform public health precincts across metropolitan, regional and rural NSW, Health Infrastructure contributes to the long term economic growth and social outlook of NSW communities.

The opportunity
The Executive Director is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for driving the strategic delivery of health capital projects across the Southern and Western metropolitan region. Reporting to the Deputy Secretary, Infrastructure and Asset Management/Chief Executive of Health Infrastructure, the Executive Director will work closely with Local Health Districts, government agencies, and key stakeholders to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions.

The role leads a diverse team and with oversight of a $4.5b capital works portfolio, drives the planning, execution, and governance of complex infrastructure programs that directly impact healthcare outcomes for diverse communities. Landmark projects include the redevelopment of Bankstown Hospital, as well as a strong pipeline of high impact developments across the region. This position is critical in ensuring alignment to the Future Health Strategic Framework particularly in relation to safe care and planning to ensure the future care needs of the community are met. With a portfolio across the Western Region, this role plays an essential function in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while also aligning with broader NSW Health and NSW Government priorities.

About you
You are a seasoned  construction leader with extensive experience delivering large-scale, complex infrastructure programs to deliver community outcomes. You bring a strong track record in managing end-to-end project lifecycles with a wealth of building and construction knowledge, and a proven track record of project delivery at scale.  You will need practical understanding of  industrial relations issues related to the building sector, as well as governance, procurement, and risk management. A contemporary leader, you will be adept at navigating political and operational complexity to ensure alignment with government priorities and community needs.

Your background includes the ability to navigate complex contractor relationships and foster strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders whilst building high-performing teams. You demonstrate strong financial acumen, superior communication skills, and a commitment to delivering public value.
