The Opportunity
Reporting to the CEO and operating as a key member of the Executive Leadership team, the Executive Manager, Quality & Practice plays a critical role in ensuring Sylvanvale’s services meet the needs and expectations of the people it supports while meeting and exceeding regulatory, legislative and governance requirements.
This role provides strategic and operational leadership to a committed stable team across quality, practice, risk management and compliance, embedding these disciplines into everyday service delivery through effective systems, leadership, coaching and support. The role leads a multidisciplinary portfolio encompassing clinical services, practice and compliance, investigations, learning and development and support coordination.
The Executive Manager, Quality & Practice works closely with the CEO, broader Executive team and Board to support governance obligations through high-quality analysis, reporting, assurance and risk management. The role also partners effectively across the organisation to ensure quality systems are accessible, fit for purpose and enable frontline teams to deliver safe, effective and person-centred services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading enterprise-wide quality, risk and practice frameworks aligned to legislation and standards.
- Oversight of investigations and reportable incidents, including organisational learning and improvement.
- Providing advice and assurance to the CEO and Board on quality, risk and compliance matters.
- Leading accreditation, internal audit and regulatory engagement activities.
- Driving continuous improvement through policy, systems, training and practice development.
- Leading and developing a professional, multidisciplinary team.
- Managing the Quality & Practice portfolio budget and operational plans.
You are an experienced senior leader with a background in broader disability, social services or similarly highly regulated environments (early education, allied health, children services or aged care). You bring strong technical expertise in quality, risk, compliance and practice leadership, alongside the ability to influence across a complex geographically dispersed organisation. As a successful Executive, you will bring:
- Senior leadership experience in quality, practice, risk or compliance functions.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and contemporary practice standards.
- Experience overseeing investigations, incident management and organisational risk.
- Ability to translate quality and risk frameworks into practical systems and processes and proactively forward think to assist operational teams in planning appropriately.
- Experience leading and developing professional, multidisciplinary teams to further a support a high functioning team.
- Strong analytical, reporting and communication capability, including at Executive and Board level.
- A values-led leadership approach aligned to human rights and person-centred practice.
