The opportunity
The Head of Business Development (HoBD) is a member of the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth and diversification for CPA by leading the development and optimisation of strategic funding and partnership opportunities This role exists to ensure CPA identifies, shapes and progresses high-value growth opportunities, strengthens CPA’s market positioning, and ensures disciplined prioritisation, negotiation and performance of funding and revenue initiatives.
Working in close collaboration with Strategy, Finance and Centre of Excellence pillars (e.g. services and education), the HoBD will identify, shape and progress high-value growth opportunities, strengthening CPA’s market positioning and ensure disciplined prioritisation, negotiation and performance of funding and revenue initiatives. This may include consideration of international opportunities and alternative or inorganic growth pathways that support revenue diversification, be commercially viable and strategically aligned.
This is a unique opportunity to use your commercial acumen and business development expertise to assist in the ongoing delivery of phenomenal outcomes for people with disability and their families.

Key responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the COO and partnering with the Executive leadership team, Fundraising, Finance, Strategy, Quality & Risk and General Managers of business areas, as Head of Business Development, you will identify, shape and progress revenue growth opportunities aligned to Strategy 2030. In addition, you will:
  • Lead and execute CPA’s business development and growth strategy aligned to Strategy 2030
  • Ensure funding opportunities align with CPA’s 2030 strategy, capability, and service delivery priorities
  • Identify and progress new growth opportunities, including expansion, innovation and emerging markets
  • Lead the identification, securing, and optimisation of government funding
  • Understand government policy, funding trends and commissioning models
  • Represent CPA with government, funding partners, and sector stakeholders
  • Provide strategic advice to the Executive Team on growth performance, risks and trends
  • Prioritise funding opportunities through strong decision-making frameworks
  • Develop strategic relationships with external partners building CPA as a trusted innovative partner in disability services
About you
You are a highly experienced senior business development executive with a proven track record of identifying and realising sustainable and scalable revenue opportunities. You bring deep experience across contemporary growth initiatives and the ability to leverage market intelligence to assist in ensuring long term organisational sustainability.
You are commercially astute, strategically minded and comfortable operating at Board and Executive level. You are a disciplined decision-maker, bringing gravitas and professionalism whilst modelling integrity and ethical governance at all times.
