Odyssey House NSW is a well-established not-for-profit organisation providing residential treatment, community programs and recovery support for individuals and families affected by alcohol and other drug dependence. Its therapeutic community model brings together clinical, wellbeing, education and social supports to help people rebuild stable and healthy lives.
Odyssey House College operates a residential community at Ingleburn and provides specialised secondary education for young people and adults requiring a highly supportive, trauma informed learning environment. With small class sizes, flexible pathways and a strong focus on practical skills, the College supports students to reconnect with education and prepare for future training or employment.
The opportunity
Reporting to the Principal, the Industrial Arts Teacher will be primarily based in Ingleburn and deliver NESA-aligned curriculum to students within the Odyssey House residential program, helping build education, life skills and future pathways.
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan and deliver engaging Industrial Arts lessons aligned with NESA requirements
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to guide development
- Contribute to individual education planning and maintain accurate student records
- Work collaboratively with education staff and multidisciplinary support teams
About you
You are a qualified secondary teacher who enjoys hands-on teaching and building strong relationships with students in a structured learning environment.
- Bachelor of Education or Master of Teaching
- Current NSW teacher accreditation with NESA
- Experience teaching Industrial Arts or TAS (timber)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary setting
