The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and strategically minded Safety & Compliance Business Partner to lead the uplift of WHS, fire safety and essential services governance across a national portfolio.
This newly created role reflects the organisation’s commitment to strengthening compliance maturity within an ASX-listed, highly regulated environment. The role will centralise critical safety and statutory obligations that have historically been dispersed across functions, bringing structure, accountability and visibility to risk management practices. Reporting to the People, Culture & Safety Manager, the Safety & Compliance Business Partner will be responsible for:
- Safety & Compliance Governance
Embedding structured WHS, fire safety and essential services frameworks across all villages, ensuring Fire Safety Management Plans, compliance registers and statutory documentation are current, accurate and audit-ready at all times.
- Contractor Assurance & Risk Control
Strengthening contractor governance processes by verifying licences, insurances and certifications, driving corrective actions and ensuring third-party providers meet regulatory and safety standards across a multi-site environment.
- Audit, Reporting & Legislative Alignment
Coordinating annual inspections and compliance audits, tracking legislative obligations and statutory deadlines, and delivering clear reporting that provides visibility and confidence at leadership level. - Operational Partnership & Safety Culture
Acting as a trusted advisor to operational stakeholders, supporting hazard identification, risk escalation and continuous improvement initiatives that build a proactive safety culture throughout the business.
This is an opportunity to shape the safety and compliance function within a growing national provider, establishing scalable frameworks that will support ongoing expansion and regulatory scrutiny.
About you
The successful candidate is a confident and self-directed safety professional who thrives in regulated, multi-site environments and understands the governance expectations of an ASX-listed organisation.
You bring a strong technical foundation in WHS and essential services compliance, coupled with the commercial pragmatism required to translate legislation into operationally workable systems. With a high attention to detail and structured approach, you are comfortable managing competing statutory deadlines while maintaining impeccable documentation standards.
Presenting with a proven track record in safety, compliance or property risk management, you are equally capable of working independently and influencing stakeholders across varying levels of operational maturity. You do not rely on authority alone, you build credibility through expertise, clarity and consistency.
The Safety & Compliance Business Partner will demonstrate:
- Deep working knowledge of WHS legislation, fire safety requirements and essential services compliance
- Experience within similarly regulated multi-site environments
- A governance-led mindset with strong audit preparation and reporting capability
- The ability to engage operational leaders with confidence and foster accountability
- Strong organisational discipline and the resilience to operate autonomously
A successful candidate will be motivated by building safety structure, elevating standards and ensuring compliance frameworks are sustainable, scalable and embedded across the business.
