Jessica Young
Researcher, Executive Search & Board
I joined Orchard because I was inspired by the opportunity to work alongside leaders that are genuinely motivated by creating meaningful social impact. Orchard’s client base are tackling some of society's most important challenges, and I deeply enjoys my role in helping identify the leadership needed to drive positive change.
Jess works within the Executive & Board Practice, supporting executive and non-executive searches across purpose-driven organisations. She is particularly interested in appointments across Government, Disability and Education. She is involved throughout the search process, from market research and talent identification through to candidate engagement and assessment. Jessica is motivated by understanding the complexities of each organisation and identifying individuals whose experience, capabilities and values align with its strategic ambitions and broader purpose.
Jessica brings a distinctive perspective to executive search, having commenced her career in neuroscience research. She studied degenerative neuroscience at the University of California, San Diego, alongside leading researchers in the field, developing a strong foundation in scientific research, critical analysis and the complexities of biomedical research. This background informs her approach to understanding specialist sectors, engaging with subject-matter experts and navigating complex talent markets. She is particularly interested in the intersection of research, healthcare and social impact, and the role that effective leadership plays in advancing outcomes for individuals and communities.
