The organisation
Vision Australia is a leading national organisation with a proud 150-year legacy. We're passionately pursuing our mission to empower people who are blind or have low vision to live the life they choose. Our dedicated team of around 850 employees and more than 2,000 volunteers delivers vital services across education, employment, independence and social inclusion, from specialist allied health and employment support to assistive technology and Seeing Eye Dogs.
The opportunity
Vision Australia is seeking an accomplished and values-led Chief Client Officer (CCO) to lead the transformation and integration of its national client services portfolio. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Board and its Committees, the CCO will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, person-centred services while strengthening operational performance, clinical governance and financial sustainability.
As a key member of the Executive Team, you will lead a diverse portfolio encompassing Client Services, National Programs, Employment Services and Vision Store, supporting more than 17,000 clients annually. Working in partnership with the Chief Practitioner, you will embed consistent service models, strengthen clinical quality and safeguarding, and drive greater coordination across teams, regions and funding streams.
This is a significant opportunity to shape the future of service delivery at Vision Australia. You will build high-performing teams and optimise services to improve access, client outcomes and long-term sustainability, ensuring the organisation continues to deliver meaningful impact for people who are blind or have low vision.
About you
You are an accomplished executive leader with extensive experience overseeing complex, geographically dispersed service operations, ideally within health, disability, aged care or broader human services environments. You bring a strong track record of leading service transformation, integrating multidisciplinary teams and driving operational excellence, with the credibility to influence at Executive and Board level.
You combine strong clinical governance capability with commercial acumen and a deep commitment to person-centred care. You have demonstrated success improving service quality, safeguarding and client outcomes while strengthening financial performance and organisational sustainability. A relevant clinical qualification, together with current AHPRA registration or membership of an appropriate professional body for a self-regulating allied health profession, will be highly regarded. Applications from exceptional executives with substantial clinical governance experience are also encouraged.
You are a collaborative, pragmatic and values-led leader who can navigate complexity, build organisational capability and inspire teams through change. Lived experience of blindness or low vision will be highly valued, and we actively encourage applications from candidates who share Vision Australia's commitment to inclusion and meaningful social impact.
What’s on offer
A competitive remuneration package will be offered, commensurate with skills and experience.
The role may be based in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne, with Vision Australia offering a high degree of flexibility. Interstate travel will be required for Board, Committee and organisational commitments.
How to apply
If you are a strategic, commercially astute and purpose-driven executive ready to shape the future of client services and make a meaningful national impact, we invite you to apply.
For a confidential discussion or role-related questions, please contact Simon Wybenga or Lisa Gleichmann at The Orchard Talent Group via email at visionaustralia@orchardtalent.com.au. To apply, please submit your CV and a cover letter outlining your suitability to this email address.
Applications close 1st November 2026 at 11:59pm. Applications will be assessed as they are submitted.
Employment is subject to a satisfactory National Police Record Check and relevant Working with Children Checks. Vision Australia is an equal opportunity employer. Applicants must have a legal right to work in Australia.
