The organisation

Afford is a leading Australian not for profit disability service provider supporting people to live independently, access employment and connect with their communities. A registered NDIS provider and charity, Afford operates across New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Victoria. The organisation delivers a range of services including accommodation, community and lifestyle supports, in home support, employment services and NDIS support coordination. Afford currently supports more than 2,100 clients and employs just under 1,000 staff across its national footprint.
 
The opportunity

Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer will lead the organisation’s strategic direction, operational performance and sector leadership. The CEO will work closely with the Board and Executive Leadership Team to strengthen organisational capability, ensure high quality and safe service delivery, and position Afford for sustainable growth in an evolving services environment.
 
As CEO you will;
  • Lead the organisation to deliver safe, high-quality services to people living with disability.
  • Drive the development and execution of Afford’s strategic vision and organisational priorities.
  • Ensure financial sustainability and investment decisions while enabling service innovation and growth.
  • Look to sustainably scale the organisation across the sector and potential entry into new markets.
  • Strengthen quality, safeguarding, compliance and continuous improvement across all services.
  • Represent Afford with government, regulators, sector bodies and community.
  • Foster a values-based, high-performance culture aligned with Afford’s mission and commitment to inclusion.
 
About you
  • Proven CEO or senior executive leadership experience leading a complex human services organisation spanning health, disability, broader community sectors or commercial adjacencies.
  • Deep understanding of the disability sector, NDIS policy and the regulatory environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading large, geographically dispersed service operations.
  • Experience leading executive teams through growth, transformation and reform.
  • A history of engagement and influencing across government, regulators and community partners.
  • Commitment to for purpose leadership, consumer rights and the social model of disability.
