The organisation
Just Better Care is an established Australian provider of in-home aged care and disability support, operating through a national network of locally owned franchises. Supporting approximately 8,500 people across Australia, the organisation combines the strength of a recognised national brand with local relationships and personalised care. In 2026, Just Better Care was ranked Australia’s #1 Best Workplace™ in Healthcare & Social Assistance (Large Organisation category) by Great Place To Work®, reflecting the culture and commitment of its people. Just Better Care was also named among Australia’s Top 10 Franchises for 2026 by 10 THOUSAND FEET Research, based on franchise owner satisfaction survey results.
The opportunity
This newly created executive appointment offers the opportunity to influence Just Better Care’s future direction at a pivotal point for the home care and disability sectors. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the COO will strengthen the commercial performance, engagement and capability of the national franchise network, while supporting disciplined, sustainable growth. The role provides executive oversight of franchise development, strategic supplier partnerships and the company-owned office, which serves as a model for new initiatives across the network.
The Chief Operating Officer will:
You are a commercially astute, energetic and highly engaging leader who can build credibility with independent business owners and inspire action across a geographically dispersed network. You bring senior operational leadership experience from home care, aged care, disability services, healthcare or a franchised service environment, with a strong understanding of the Australian aged care and NDIS landscape. Experience in franchise development, procurement or strategic partnerships will be valuable.
Equally important is your ability to move between strategy and execution. You thrive in a lean executive team, bring sound financial judgement and know how to coach, influence and challenge stakeholders with empathy and confidence. You understand the importance of partnering with specialist quality and governance teams, rather than treating compliance as separate from commercial decision-making. A willingness to travel interstate and engage directly with franchise partners is essential.
What’s on offer
A newly created, senior executive role with direct access to the CEO and genuine influence over the organisation’s future.
For a confidential discussion or role-related questions, please contact Hayley Thorpe of the Orchard Talent Group via justbettercare@orchardtalentgroup.com.au. To apply, please submit your current CV and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience and interest in the role.
