About us
Wesley Mission is a high profile, multi-faceted Christian organisation making a real difference in the community. We work with the most disadvantaged in our community, providing over 200 services across New South Wales (NSW) and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) – from aged care, homeless services, child and family care, counselling, employment, training and education, through to health services.

Our vision is “A Spirit-led disciple-making movement: doing all the good we can because every life matters”.

About the business
Wesley Home Care Services supports older people to live safely, independently and with dignity in their own homes and communities, delivering services across NSW from Wollongong to Ballina. Services include Support at Home (the Australian Government’s in-home aged care program replacing Home Care Packages), the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) and a range of additional in-home care services. The business is well positioned to grow its reach to older Australians most in need while navigating significant sector reform, including the new Aged Care Act.

About the role
We are seeking a Head of Home Care to lead and be accountable for the operational performance, financial sustainability and strategic success of Wesley Home Care Services. You will lead the integrated delivery of home care – across care management, clinical care and direct care – in a person-centred, safe and compliant way, and drive sustainable growth that extends our reach to older people most in need.
You will lead a geographically dispersed team, represent Wesley Mission in the sector, steward financial performance, and guide the business through the transition to Support at Home and the new Aged Care Act.

Essential criteria
  • Extensive senior leadership experience in home care, aged care or a related human services field
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the aged care regulatory environment, including the Aged Care Act, the Aged Care Quality Standards, the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission and the Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS)
  • Sound understanding of the Support at Home program, the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) and the current aged care reform agenda
  • Demonstrated experience leading integrated, person-centred service delivery across care management, clinical care and direct care
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing revenue growth, budgets, surplus targets and government funding
  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing growth and service-development strategies
  • Proven ability to lead, develop and engage multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed teams
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills with regulators, funders, consumers, families and community organisations
  • As a key role within the organisation, you will have an active Christian faith, seeing this role as a vocation and expression of your faith (desirable) or otherwise you will demonstrate explicit support for Wesley Mission’s expression of faith and purpose (essential)
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in a not-for-profit or community service organisation
  • Experience leading services through aged care reform and the transition to Support at Home
  • Established networks across the NSW aged and home care sector
  • Experience working within a faith-based organisation
Qualifications and checks
  • Tertiary qualification in nursing, allied health, human services, business, management or a related discipline
  • Current Working with Children Check and National Criminal History Check
  • Current NSW driver licence
  • As this role works with the aged, the suitable applicant will undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to commencement and every three years following
  • An international police certificate will be required if the applicant has lived for more than six months in a country other than Australia while over the age of 16 years
  • As a senior leader, the suitable applicant will need to comply with all Key Personnel suitability requirements
