The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Head of Scheduling to lead its scheduling and workforce management function, driving operational improvement, consistency and efficiency across a complex service delivery environment.
Leading a team of approximately 30 across multiple locations, the Head of Scheduling will be responsible for strengthening scheduling practices, improving workforce utilisation and embedding consistent processes and performance measures. A key priority will be reducing reliance on agency staffing, improving roster efficiency and ensuring the right support workers are deployed to meet client needs while maintaining compliance with relevant industrial instruments.
Working closely with operational leaders and key stakeholders, the role will play a critical part in strengthening the relationship between workforce planning and service delivery. The successful candidate will lead a significant program of operational improvement, building team capability, accountability and a culture of continuous improvement while ensuring scheduling decisions balance commercial sustainability with quality client outcomes.
About you
Are you an experienced scheduling, rostering or workforce management leader who has successfully led sizeable teams within complex, workforce-intensive and 24/7 service environments. Experience within disability services, particularly Supported Independent Living (SIL), will be highly regarded, although candidates from broader human services environments with comparable operational complexity are encouraged to apply.
You bring demonstrated experience improving scheduling performance, optimising workforce utilisation and reducing agency expenditure while maintaining service quality and continuity. You understand the complexities of managing workforce requirements across multiple locations and bring strong commercial acumen, analytical capability and an understanding of relevant industrial instruments, ideally including the SCHADS Award.
Importantly, you are a hands-on and engaging people leader who can bring structure, clarity and accountability to a large team. You are confident navigating operational challenges, influencing senior stakeholders and implementing sustainable improvements in environments where workforce efficiency and client outcomes are equally important.
