Support young people in care to feel safe, build trust, and believe in their futures across our client’s homes in Maitland and Newcastle.

About you:
  • Relevant qualifications (Certificate or Diploma) in Youth Work, Community Services, Disability or Mental Health
  • Experience supporting children and/or young people with complex needs.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Empathy, resilience, and a solutions-focused mindset
  • Unrestricted driver’s license
  • Regular availability across a range of shifts, including weekends and overnights
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll be supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma, neglect, or challenging life circumstances, creating safe, stable, and nurturing environments to help them develop emotional regulation, life skills, and positive relationships.
  • Active support: meal prep, dressing, transportation, social outings, plan for and achieve daily goals
  • Health support: administer and document medication and follow health support plans
  • Positive behaviour support: manage behaviours, triggers and escalations
  • Safeguarding: ensure safety of you and the young person, documentation and reports
