Founded in 1961 by WWII War Widow Jessie Vasey, Vasey is a purpose-driven not-for-profit organisation providing secure, independent residential accommodation for older Australians, with a preference for veterans and their families. Operating five retirement villages across key Sydney locations, Vasey supports a thriving community of more than 370 residents across 309 homes.
With a proud heritage of supporting those who have served our country, Vasey is embarking on an exciting new chapter through the development of a Veteran Affordable Housing Strategy designed to address housing insecurity and create sustainable housing pathways for veterans and their families.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Veteran Housing Manager is a newly created leadership role responsible for designing, establishing and delivering Vasey's Veteran Affordable Housing Strategy across NSW.
This is a unique opportunity to shape a program from the ground up, identifying unmet need, securing funding, building strategic partnerships and creating practical housing solutions that improve outcomes for veterans and their families. Key responsibilities include:

- Developing and implementing Vasey's Veteran Affordable Housing Strategy
- Identifying housing needs and designing veteran-specific housing solutions
- Building partnerships across government, housing, veteran and community sectors
- Securing funding through grants, philanthropy and social impact investment
- Developing business cases, feasibility assessments and funding submissions
- Supporting the growth of affordable housing opportunities across metropolitan and regional NSW
- Monitoring program outcomes, social impact measures and strategic performance
- Acting as an ambassador for Vasey across policy, funding and sector forums
About You
You are a strategic and commercially minded, who is passionate about creating positive social impact and improving housing outcomes for veteran communities. You will bring:
- Experience within affordable housing, community housing, social impact, veterans' services or related sectors
- Demonstrated success developing and implementing strategic programs or service models
- Experience securing funding, grants, partnerships or investment opportunities
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence across government, community and private sectors
- Experience developing business cases, feasibility studies and reporting frameworks
- Strong commercial acumen combined with a genuine commitment to social purpose outcomes
- Excellent written communication and funding submission capabilities
- An understanding of veteran support systems, housing policy or social services will be highly regarded
